No. Uber and Lyft do not operate in Aruba. Getting around works differently here: taxis are licensed and their fares are set by the government, and there is also a taxi booking app, a public bus and private transfers. This guide compares them with real 2026 prices so you can plan before you land.

No Uber, no Lyft: what the rules say
Aruba's official taxi site says that only vehicles with a TX license plate may provide taxi service.
Taxi services and fares are regulated by the Government of Aruba, and complaints go to the Department of Public Transportation (DTP). We did not find an Uber or Lyft service in Aruba, and travel guides for 2026 say the same. So the plan is not to open an app and wait for a car. It is to know which of the four options below fits your trip.
On Aruba's roads, a taxi is a TX-plate vehicle. That is the license to look for.

The Aruba Taxi App
The Aruba Taxi App is the closest thing to a ride app, but it books licensed taxis rather than replacing them.
What follows is how the company describes itself on its own website, not something we have tested.
What it is
A dispatch platform that connects you with independent taxi drivers licensed by the DTP. It says it is not a taxi company.
Fares
It uses the official government-regulated rates and adds a $4 convenience fee per ride.
Booking
You enter pickup and drop-off, the number of passengers and pieces of luggage. You can also schedule ahead. It says drivers typically arrive within 10 minutes.
Payment
By credit card or cash.
The bus: Arubus
The bus is the cheapest way around, but it is built for people traveling light.
$2.60 a trip (AWG 4.50). A return card is $5.00 and a day pass is $15.00.
Airport service. Arubus says that on Line 2 you can travel to and from the airport.
No luggage. Arubus does not accept luggage on its buses, only carry-on items.
Hotel area. Routes L10A and L10B run from Oranjestad to the hotel area.

When a private transfer fits
A private transfer earns its price when the group, the luggage or the hour makes the other options awkward.
1: A group of five or more

2: Luggage and children
The bus takes carry-on only. Taxis include one piece of luggage and one backpack or handbag per passenger to and from the airport. We can fit child seats when you tell us the ages when booking.
3: Late or early arrivals
